Rehan Ahmed – Sydney Sixers (Bronze)

Rehan Ahmed made his international debut in all three formats before turning 19 and in 2022 he became England’s youngest Test cricketer to score against Pakistan in Karachi. The five-wicket haul thus attracted people’s attention.The young spinner was drafted by the 76ers with the bronze pick at the end, joining fellow tweakers Todd Murphy and Steve O’Keefe on the club’s roster.

Pending Test selection, it remains to be seen whether Ahmed will feature in the Big Bash final.

Corey Anderson – Hobart Hurricanes (Silver)

Corey Anderson will make his Big Bash League debut this summer. After a long spell in Major League Cricket and the T20 circuit this year, the 32-year-old is known for hitting the long balls and bowling handy seam bowling.

He is part of the Hurricanes’ strategy to rethink the batsmen to strengthen the middle order with overseas players.

Zaman Khan – Sydney Thunder (Gold)

Khan, who is about to turn 22, will make his Big Bash League debut this summer after being drafted by the Thunder. He has had impressive performances in both the Hundred and Pakistan Super League.

Thunder batsman Jason Sangha: “Khan has been selected for the death bowling duties and he will share the job with all-rounder Daniel Sams”.

Jamie Overton – Adelaide Strikers (Gold)

The 29-year-old Overton, who is known for his power hitting and fast bowling, is a player of the hundred this season and was a surprise pick in the top ten picks of the draft.

Former Australia coach Darren Lehmann said Overton “threw a hard ball” which would suit him at his new home ground, Adelaide Oval.
